The owner and her family who are all employed at the restaurant/piano bar and who oversee the daily operations, originally hail from and stand with Ukraine! About Samovar: This was once a regular Frank Sinatra hang out as the original bar filmed during the hit movie “Manchurian Candidate” inside the restaurant still remains to this day! In 1986 ballet master Mikhail Baryshnikov, Nobel poet Joseph Brodsky and Roman Brodsky invested in this prime theater district space and the rest is history! In fact, a few years later, a famous “Sex in the City” romantic scene was filmed here with Baryshnikov and Sarah Jessica Parker. Baryshnikov’s baby grand piano is still used to this day by the talented and unique night performers who perform daily. There will be 2 drinks included in this ticket price!
